New Me New Year-Making Resolutions That Last

What doesnt get written doesn't happen

What doesnt get written doesn’t happen

So yes, it’s that time of the year, you look back and you realize that all you might have wanted to be or want to achieve…eish. it’s not all there! The feelings and the reality of not being completely where or who we want to be might begin to dawn on you with a large sense of unease, so what do we do? We wish for the year to end, to begin the next, and we set some of those proverbial new years resolutions.

The statistics are shockingly sad because within three weeks most of us have broken these new years resolution , we somehow loose traction in trying to improve ourselves sometimes we don’t even bother ourselves anymore, these resolutions these( nods head from side to side)

The truth of the matter is that you are lying, you haven’t resolved to do anything.

Do you know what it means to resolve? It is a firm or unwavering adherence to one’s purpose, ultimately to one’s decision. It is firm meaning it cannot be shaken, it cannot be moved unwavering meaning nothing can change it, so you didn’t actually resolve because after a few weeks, you wavered you were shaken, your resolve evaporated when the heat came by.

If you are to resolve, if you are to decide to have to be or to do something, it is an immovable decision that you have taken upon yourself, a grip that nothing can detach because you decided it would be so. Regardless of what happens, its deciding it will be no matter what. A standard that must be reached.

Here are a few ideas to consider to make resolutions that are built to last:

The challenges and possible failures

Change: “difficult in the beginning messy in the middle and oh so gorgeous at the end” Robin Sharma.

When setting resolutions or goals we do not acknowledge the fact that we WILL face challenges when trying to build these resolutions into long life successes. The best is to put strategies in place to counter act and address these challenges. If you decide to exercise everyday there will be days where you are tired, when you feel it’s too cold to get out of bed, you might want to catch up on some sleep, someone might disturb you! Question is what will you do in these situations? What happens if you decide to save 20% of your income this year and reduce all of your debt? Becoming better requires change, did you acknowledge the fact that you might have to fore go some luxuries you have become accustomed to? That you have to budget better?

You are not starting at zero! Remain positive

Research shows that your brain will be more conditioned to achieve success when a positive outlook, is maintained neurochemicals called success accelerants get realised allowing you to perceive more possibility and being open to opportunity, pessimism closes off anything worthwhile

And by no means are you starting from zero! your achievements to date serve as a spring-board for further success, give yourself a handshake and a pat on the back for what you have done thus fur because research# shows that the brain accelerates towards the achievement the closer it perceives success. So when you right out your resolution write out what you have already achieved, and there is always something!

Plan of action and be specific

Corporations have mandates to be carried out throughout their financial year, specific programs of action, but there is no mandate for your own life? Be the CEO of You PTY LTD

The difference between a plan and a wish: a plan is a wish with a date, time and some specifics. If you want to lose weight, how many kilos a week? By when? If what you trying to do is not clear how will you execute an ambiguous mission? The universe responds well towards being specific and decisive, you know what they say about Rome, take on small bite size chunks of your plan daily.

Change is a continual process

But wait why do they have to be “new year” resolutions? You can resolve at any moment, of any day to become more and become better, who said we have to wait for a new year? Then only we tend to realize we have not achieved, a little late don’t you think friends?

My challenge to you is to see your change as a continuous process, assess your progress weekly. Some means of measuring progress, set aside some time to take a look at the past week, with regards to your plans and resolutions, what can be done better take that and reinvest it into the following week not just on the 31st of December!

Don’t get caught in Euphoria

You have seen it: a hundred push ups on January 2nd, zero on the 28th. Up by 4am January 2nd . Hau! Then January 17th its back to being up 30 minutes before school or work. Do not get caught up in the fleeting excitement of the new year and the new you. Really resolve, so that it moves beyond excitement and even the cold winter mornings. You might have a set back but you get up and try again because you have resolved.

The life you desire the person you want to be is in reach, you are capable of turning your life around or elevating the quality of your life. We cannot change the past, we cannot change who did what to us, but you have the present you have the moment and each and every moment is pregnant with the next! Do best, in 20 for me! 20 fortune and why play small in 20 formidable.

We are ordinary men, striving for an extraordinary life.

Mayweather’s Secrets to Success

Money A.K.A Pretty Boy A.K.A TBE

Money A.K.A Pretty Boy A.K.A TBE

No I am not boxing’s biggest fan, however; greatness cannot be ignored.

Yes he has the audacity to call himself money! Floyd Mayweather a pound for pound the best boxer of his time, in fact, of this very moment. His record is insanely unheard of! He Has played 46 games and won 46 games, you read write. Zero losses, Zero draws. A loud mouthed fellow who can most certainly back it up.
In awe of his mastery, I decided to take a look at what makes him the champ he is. I found 5 character traits, that I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt can impact your personal and professional success.

1. An overarching self-confidence and belief.
If you get to listen or watch Floyd Mayweather speak you will know his got quite a lot of controversial things to say, you might label him arrogant, I say its confidence. He believes in himself, his skill and abilities. It was once said the battle is half won once there is absolute certainty in the cause.
For me it makes absolute sense! Doubt tends to lead to insecurity, insecurity leads to being vulnerable, vulnerability creates room for unnecessary injury. Not just in the game of boxing but in the game of life.

2. Work Ethic that is combined with obsession.

Albert Einstein once observed: “Only those who devote themselves to a cause with their whole strength and soul can be true masters. For this reason, mastery demands all of a person.”
Many say they are passionate about they work, and their calling. But true mastery of a craft comes from obsession, backed with dire work ethic. He has been known to be up by 4am to work out, after returning in the early hours of the morning from a party. While many of us make tons of excuse to not rise early and shake off mediocrity.
A before-the-fight/behind the scenes type of series known as 24/7 shows Mayweather returning to the gym, in the evening after a full days workout. He is obsessed with becoming the best and hence he has become. His trainer and uncle explains, he need not tell him how many times to hit the bag, because he will do it anyway. How many of us have failed to EXERT ourselves on the things we claim to love?
The truth is, passion is cheap, it does not have much value, until it translates into massive amounts of value for your organization, your team or school. Now passion that is worked on, in an addictive monomaniacal fashion turns into mastery.
You might be passionate about painting, but Mayweather teaches us if you don’t have obsessive work ethic, you will be just be another painter, you will die, and no one will remember you because you were playing small with your greatness
3)Environment that breeds your success

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.” George Bernard Shaw
Floyd Mayweather Senior Junior’s father, is a former welterweight contender. His Trainer and uncle, Roger Mayweather, won two major world titles, in two different weight classes. His youngest uncle Jeff Maywerather, was an IBO super featherweight champion. No surprise that the next generation fighter, is a five-division world champion.
I don’t know if its possible for one to be born with genes that are made to beat the living day lights out of a person. But I do know that your environment, affects the direction and the outcome of your life. His family lived, ate ,slept boxing. He was an in environment that nurtured the craft.
Does that mean that you are doomed, because you come from the wrong environment? No, all it means is that you need to change your environment. Create an environment conducive for your success. The first of these environments is your internal environment, which is simply a reflection of your outer world. We live out our inner most beliefs. Begin to alter your inner self, your thoughts, by spending time with people who are on the same mission as you, reading the books that will grow you and develop you and (50 shades of grey won’t!) attending workshops and seminars that will propel you towards your success.

Legacy and Vision
The Best Ever is another one of Mayweather Alias and represents why he works the way he does, he is working to realize a vision of being the best ever, this transcends money, it even transcends the number of wins, it’s about legacy.
Who will remember you when you die?
What will you be remembered for?

The world awaits your greatness.
